What is Listeria?
Listeriosis is a foodborne disease. Listeriosis is usually silenced by consuming food containing a bacteria called Listeria monocytogenes. These bacteria are resistant to severe heat and cold.
This listeria monocytogenes bacteria is commonly found in water, soil, and some animals. However, there are no such symptoms that can be noticed in animals. These bacteria are also found in raw foods such as raw meat and vegetables.
What are the symptoms of Listeria?
This listeria disease infects more in a weak body. It is more common in people over 65 years old, young children, and pregnant women. So far no serious symptoms have been revealed in the body of the patient infected with this bacteria.
Some of the common symptoms of Listeria during pregnancy –
- Fever
- Nausea
- Severe muscle pain
- Headache
- Sometimes convulsions also occur
How do we prevent Listeria during pregnancy?
Special attention should be paid to all physical aspects during pregnancy. Many small physical changes during pregnancy can take serious forms and even lead to miscarriage.
During the pregnancy period, all the things we should do to get rid of Listeria-
- Avoid raw meat and vegetables
- Avoid expired food
- Avoid excessive food
- Eating food properly heated
Moreover, we can say we have to be very careful during this pregnancy period. Slight negligence can put the life of the mother and baby at risk.
